Should I join a network or not?

First, I apologize if I am in the wrong section. Let me know if I am, though! :)

Alright, so, I'm just wondering if I should join a Channel Network or if I should keep to myself.

So far I've crossed off Machinima, as well as some really new network "Voltage Gamers" or something. I wanna join Union For Gamers, but I don't have 1k subs, just 43.

I'm looking for one with no lock-in, and new-guy friendly.

No less than 60/40 share preferred, but willing to go 50/50 if the network is amazing.

EDIT: I am not trying to advertise my channel in any way. If it appears that I am, tell me how, and I'll edit it out. Thanks! :)
 
A lot of new guys think that a partnership offer is the Holy Grail - it is not.

Stay away from a partnership, especially in this stage of your YouTube experience. They offer nothing of value and take your money.

I thought it would be great, as they're supposed to grow subscriber count and such. I want to join one in order to grow my subscriber count, as I have no other way to.

They don't help you at all! And if you think that is the only way to grow your channel, you need to hang around here a lot more. I'm close to 300 subs (which is BIG for me!) and I have knocked back countless offers for partnership. I grow because I work hard on my videos and my channel, not relying on someone else.

Oh. I'm just at 44 which is BIG for me, lol.

Work hard mate and you will grow. Partnership will just take your money and give you nothing in return.

Oh, and make custom thumbnails for your videos!

I wish I could. The closest I've come to a custom thumbnail is using a letter image, then putting words on the lines. ("To so-and-so") And then putting "Gamer4Life" stamp on it xD
 
I joined Freedom not too long ago. It wasn't for the money. I just wanted to see what a network could offer. I also wanted to join and participate in a new forum and being part of the network has some promotion perks in their forums. I gained about 10-15 subs just being active on their forum and it wasn't really 'work' just doing what I normally do here. If there is no long term contract just go for it nothing really to lose.

Plus am I really going to be making money with like 100 subs and less than 200 views a week? Nope so money was never an issue.
