Should we get a HD PVR?

We've been on YouTube for only about 3-4 months now, and were really interested in recording on our PS3s. But in order to get a HD quality record, we'd obviously have to buy a HD PVR. But at this point in time (only 50 odd subs and getting about 50 views a day), we're not sure if we should be spending $200+ on something that we may get no channel improvement on. Is it a good idea at this stage to be spending that sort of money, on something that may or may not work out for us? Sure, we really enjoy making videos and seeing some of the responses on them, but would we, at this stage, just be wasting our money? Should we go ahead and buy a HD PVR, or wait until we have a half respectable subscriber count/daily view count?

And if so, which would be the best to get?

If you're growing steadily now (1-3 subs/day) and are willing to continue your channel and put in your best effort then a pvr would be essential for your growth :)

I thought the same thing before upgrading the software on my computer. It's not all about getting everything to be HD, having a unique and likeable personality is just as important as having good hardware/software. But to be able to reach to a larger audience, better equipment will be needed as more and more people come to your channel. <3

Go for the HDPVR 2
That one records good quality. I myself us Roxio HD PRO for ps3 and it's good quality for a cheaper price (under 100€!) so if you have a low budget you can get something else.

I recommend getting an Elgato Game Capture HD as the HDPVR only uses component cables. The new generation of consoles wont have component output only HDMI.

I decided to get one and it's on its way :) I got the Happauge Gaming Edition 2 or something as it looked the easiest to setup. Thanks for everybody's input. Really helped me make a decision :)
