Should I enable age restriction?

I already asked this but no one provided me with an answer. Everyone was too busy freaking out about the video I wanted to enable age restrictions on, and everyone thought I was doing it for attention -____-

Basically i have this video thats not at all inappropriate... I just want to age restrict it so all the immature 12 year olds can't see it, because they cant take a joke. I'm not gonna even say what the video is about because I guarantee I'll just get more death threats and no one will even answer the question.

I just want a straight forward answer. Am I allowed to age restrict a video that's not inappropriate at all? is that against the rules? and will it put any restrictions on my account or affect my account in any way? besides that one video getting less views?
 
I don't see why it shouldn't be allowed. You could always argue that it's aimed at mature audiences and doesn't carry the same message to younger people hence the restriction. Plus I don't think it breaks any rules.

As I said in your last thread, if you can't take the hate, don't make videos that is encourage it.

Unless you are doing something that may offend U-12's or are doing anything explicit (I know your channel and know you wouldn't do either of those things) there is no need to age restrict your video IMO, you never know there are some U-12 that may benefit :).
 
I've only ever age restricted 1 video and that was the torture scene from GTA 5. Age restricting sadly doesn't protect you from crap though. But if you're trying to protect yourself from hate it won't work. The age restriction is more of an advisory, if 5 year olds can hack an xbox I'm pretty sure 12 year olds can make fake accounts to sign in to lol But otherwise it will only damage your view chances & you can't monetise. I used it as an advisory even though it was CGI violence.
