Should I collaborate with a major Youtuber who I'm not a fan of?

Serious question for you all: I have the opportunity to collaborate with one of Youtube's biggest comedy names, which would drive a lot of traffic to my channel. I like the guy as a person, and he's super cool, but his comedy style is not for me and I'm not a huge fan of his videos. I think the collab we talked about could be great though. I'm risking losing the respect of some of my other friends in comedy who don't find this guy to be that funny, which is the major problem. Has anyone found themselves in this situation? I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place where I could do the collab, gain a ton of viewership, but potentially rub some of my friends the wrong way... OR I could say no to the collab, keep my friends happy, and not get the boost in viewership.

Honestly no idea what I should do yet about this situation...

you may not like their content, but do you like them as a person? if so its worth it.

If you don't like his videos but like him as a person and if you guys have a video planned that you're both happy with, it shouldn't cause a problem. If you were in a video that you didn't like and where only there to drive traffic to your channel then it'd be a bad idea.

Who cares what anyone else thinks... as long as you can live with yourself then hell yeah! you gota get yours yo!

Do it. If they're good friends, they will respect you and support you in this. If they hate you just because you collaborated with someone whose comedy style they don't like.. they're jerks.

Yes, if you are happy with the content of the video, than your friends should be jealous, not disrespectful to you.

It's not about making your friends happy. It's about making you happy.
Can you compromise on this? Does it feel like your definition of selling out? How do you feel in your heart?

Remember; those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Rather you like him or not its still a chance for a boost, I would go for it. It would be will worth it in the long run :3
