Should I click "Skippable Video Ads?"

When I click "Monetize with Ads" on a video, I only have 2 options. 'Overlay ads' and 'skippable video ads'

If I don't click skippable video ads, does that mean that my video WILL have ads at the beginning but they will not be skippable? Or does that mean my video WON'T have ANY video ads playing before it?

If it's the first option, will I make more money by having skippable ads or full 30 second non skippable ads?

Offcoarse if u choose Non Skippable ads, it means u are earn money anyway :)
But the audience may get feel annoy!
Some may just watch the entire 30 seconds and some may just won't watch the video and click away!

Oh wow, so by not checking "Skippable Ads", there will be full ads at the beginning of my videos?

If you don't click skippable video ads, you will only get overlay ads. You have to have a box (you may not have this option) for standard instream ads to enable non-skippable ads.

Do NOT use non skippable ads. I NEVER recommend it.

Think about it like this. The first 5-15 seconds of your video are the most important. Right? Well, how would it feel if people didn't even get to see the first 5? Having non-skippable ads encourages the users to click away. Why spend the time waiting for your content?

Why would a new viewer want to wait?

Yes, you will technically make more revenue IF the viewer doesn't click away.

So, in the end. You're going to be pushing away new viewers, and (potentially) make less revenue.

Pls don't do it. pls.

No,skippable ads are those which u see at the beginning and you can skip after 5 seconds, they can go,but dont choose non skippable ones!

i just skipped the non skipable ads ;-) i want to know if this will work for my video views and what it does with my cpm. i will post it here.

A lot of confusing info in here, how about we try this. Here are the ad formats that YouTube offers, not everyone has the non-skippable option (I'm guessing you don't).

Edit* I guess I still can't post links to Google help docs, which is rather annoying...here's a photo instead.

I think you got a lot of confusing answers here.
To clarify your questions:
If you don't click 'skippable video ads' you will not have any video ads (and will earn only very little money through overlay ads).
You will only have 'nonskippable video ads' if you specifically apply for that (they never accepted me even though I already applied several times :( )
