should i care what time i should upload my videos?

should i care when i should upload my videos, is there a theory behind if you upload your video at such time it will get more views?

when i get the list of videos from my subscribers i tend to watch all the videos and time doesn't really matter because by 3 am i had watched all the videos in the list.

also i haven't been posting for 2 months and i just uploaded a video on to youtube but it's scheduled until tomorrow 1:30 pm. the people who watch my videos/ target audience are teenagers and people in uni, so should i wait until their bell rings at 4 pm and they finish school and they are back home, or should i just post it at any time and it will be good.

Ok this is what I've gathered from talking to large channels about this. First off I don't know if it matters that much before you are at a decent size (few thousand subs, getting hundreds of views a video at least) But after that, there is no magical time for ALL channels, because not all subject matter gets searched by the same types of people. So rather than like... listening to other people's idea of best upload time, you have to basically try things and then record your results and just figure out when your target market is searching the most.

Your audience could come more from a different country and when school gets out in that country is the best time to upload, your audience could be business professionals who are looking for ways to market themselves in the day time, it could be stoners who stay up till 3 am trying to entertain themselves, that's why it's gonna be different for different content, and you just kinda have to keep track of how each video does when uploaded at different times/days and then find what works best for your channel.

(I didn't read your full post before responding lol, sounds like you know your target audience, however that doesn't necessarily mean that the time you assume would be best for them is indeed best, I'd just experiment with it)

I very much agree, some of my best videos ive upload at like 3am.. for instance i am staying up all night tonight to edit

I honestly don't really pay attention to it but I notice I do get a faster response and comments during the day.

It really depends on your channel, but if it's anything like mine, full of higschool teenagers, uni students, and primary school students I find that my viewership goes down by about a 3rd during weekdays, and then picks up on the weekend making the best time for me to upload being on a Saturday morning, so that it also scoops up the high views from the next day before the week commences again.
