Should I bother with MCN?

Sup.

Over the last couple years I've weighed in on this matter a few times. I'm a loner type dude that just likes doing what I do, because it's all about me. (Narcissistic much?) I don't have to worry about much in regards to others, but at the same time it seems like I'll have to work 3x as hard to get anywhere.

I know that MCN's can be beneficial. Everything from fighting copyright strikes, above standard permissions, channel promotion etc. But is it really worth it?

I've read that Google/YT already take a cut of the ad revenue. So purely example... Say they take 40% that leaves me with 60% profit right? (Not sure what the actual numbers are)

Now if I join an MCN, don't they take a cut of that same profit? So say MCN takes 25% that leaves me with only 35% in the end?

I'm already partner verified. Have been for years (just never used it much). Is there any point to me bothering to join up with an MCN for the benefits? I mean, are there really any benefits that I can't do on my own for the most part?

Are there any types of 'community' MCN's? You know, no contract type crap. No cuts taken. Just community groups that share and promote each other, or help in other aspects? A pseudo-MCN if you will.

My thoughts are jumbled, so I apologize for the muffed up jumps in what I'm trying to say.

I'm still trying to figure this all out as I take a more serious approach to doing the whole monetization thing.

YTTalk is probably the closest thing to the pseudo-MCN that you're looking for. I'd only join an MCN if you think that their features will benefit you. I don't think there's one out there that doesn't take a cut of the revenue, but I know there are some that don't have contracts if you want to try it out.

Pointless until you get much bigger & are getting really good views every month. I was with Freedom when I was at about 100-300 subs but I left and I'm sticking with Adsense for the foreseeable future :)
