Should I ad vlog-ish rant to my channel? (example rant included)

I Love YTtalk
Watching a Tim Schmoyer(sp) video recently where he advises a weekly upload schedule got me thinking...
Looking at some of the more successful channels here at their subscriber/views and quantity of content got me thinking some more...
My normal videos take a long time to make. Music is original as is the vast majority of the graphics. So it takes a while to compose, rehearse, record, and edit. Not to mention time to set up lighting equipment and the green screen.
A rant video would take up a fraction of the time and intro music and graphics once created can be reused and may be a great filler in between higher production gear videos so I would have more frequent content while still leaving room for what I do love; music gear.

As an example my latest facebook rant:

"Sometimes a guy likes to be romanced.....
So a few months ago I paid off one of my motorcycles and was as giddy as a 12 year old school girl meeting her favorite celebrity.
Anyways apparently it cleared my credit report recently, I had a couple of letters from financiers offering me signature loans. One of them was at 30%. You read that right 30%!!!!!
If they wanted to screw me over that severely at least they could have taken me to a nice dinner and a movie, perhaps a romantic comedy, some chocolate, flowers and perhaps sweet nothings whispered in my ears and a compliment or 2 wouldn't hurt instead of screaming "BEND OVER WE'VE GOT A HUGE MONSTER FOR YA!!!! GUESS WHAT?!? NO LUBE!!!
I got better interest rates when I had bad credit; so no thank you Mariner Finance, no thank you AT ALL."

Sooooo; should I start including rant videos?

Sure mate, I personally find it enjoyable when people switch/change things a little. I myself tried Let's Plays, Vlogs and Short Films but had to stop because I wasn't feeling it, but the few people that watched it said they liked the variety...so what it all comes down to is just you trying it out and see how it is after a while. Then for those who watches you, you just give an update on what's gonna happen and BOOM! You're good to go :)

I say try it out and see what it's like and just have fun doing what you love, hope this helped in some way :)
