SEO - how to get it RIGHT?

I've learned a lot about SOE on YouTube. I'm trying all the techniques I've learned so far, but can't get satisfying results.

Let's take for example my video "Taylor Swift - Shake It Off PARODY (Russian Gangster Version)" (I would like to post a link, but I'm not allowed)

I'm getting only about 2-3 views per day and I have no idea why. Is chosen keyword too popular? (main keyword is "shake it off parody")

It bothers me a lot. Because it seems that I understand this SEO thing pretty well, and I think I also do it at least OK. But still there are no results, and the worst thing is that I have no idea how to take any feedback from this and what can I do better.

It appears that the tags you have are somewhat precise. All of them seem to have the phrase "Shake it off" in them. From my understanding of how SEO works, you don't want your tags to be so precise because your video won't show up in searches unless the exact phrase you have in your tag is typed in. Try using more tags as well, the more the better. "Shake" "It" "Off" "Taylor" "Swift" split each word up as a tag.

More tags (relevant of course) is almost ALWAYS better! As for your keywords, that would be an extremely common one, so while you would want to include it in your tags, make sure you have a bunch of other more unique ones to back it up and get your video higher up their in SEO

I thought the exact same thing! I have just recently started researching how SEO tags work and saw a few posts basically saying "the more the merrier." I had never used any tags on my first uploads, I just thought it was something for advanced users. xD
