SEO effect of changing Youtube video title

Hey guys, I have a video that I uploaded in 07 and it's currently showing up on Google for the phrase "how to drive a stick shift" and am currently getting about 1000 views a day but am trying to bring that up. According to the google keyword tool "how to drive manual" is over 10 times more popular than the other.

I'd like to change the video name but I'm worried I'll lose the SEO standing that it currently has. Does anyone know how it works when you change a Youtube Title? Will it lose the video age and previous SEO juiceage?

It will need to re-index it. I dont know how long it takes anymore to reindex on googles main engine. Once upon a time it took 30 days lol. I dont know if its that long anymore hehe. Maybe someone else knows the current rate. :)

you might want to consider editing it slightly and uploading a second copy, waiting for that one to rank and then pull down the old one if your worried.

Personally, if I had a video getting 1000 views/day, I wouldn't change a thing.

I used the keyword tool from keywordstrategy.org and this is what I found:

Monthly Searches

how to drive a manual 2400
how to drive a manual car 4400
how to drive a stick shift 6600
how to drive manual 3600

So, from that particular tool, it seems as though the keyphrase you are optimized for gets more monthly searches.

Keep in mind that the volume of searches for a particular keyword/phrase/longtail etc. isn't the most important thing you should be looking for. Competition is what you should really be looking at. Finding medium/high searched terms with low competition is what every SEO junkie seeks, and it seems as though you've stumbled on one that has been doing well for you. :)

Youtube/Google change their algorithms frequently so if you find it drops to, say, 100 views a day for a week straight, that's when tinkering with titles and tags couldn't hurt.

I wouldn't change it at all, I would add the additional details to the Tags which will also increase the traffic.

The Tilte is a big part, but also the Tags can increase traffic - keywording.
