I am a producer who has been selling royalty free music/beats to rappers for the last couple of years. I have always beent told that my music sounds thematic, and atmospheric, perfect for film scoring and videos. So I am trying to integrate and sell my music to video makers/ independent film makers but don't have the slitest idea how this niche works and how the community works. How do video makers go about selecting their music for their videos? Is it possible to make sales to Youtubers? What would be the best way to approach people in this type of community for this type of business? Thanks os much.

There is a market, but know that a lot of people get the royalty free music, for free, so it could be a hard business.[DOUBLEPOST=1365131818,1365130791][/DOUBLEPOST]Let me add this thought.....

Like some other people on the web, I myself give music away. I see it like this. I give the music away, in return people subscribe to my channel, like my videos and share and favorite and give me credit and link my channel. I can then monetize the videos on which I share my music and gain income that way. Now this might not be lucrative at first, but image I go on and one day get thousands of subscribers because they appreciate what I do. Now having all these subscribers, I can also now share links to my other channels, and hopefully these subs will view my other content. If I then have those videos monetized, well then you start to get the idea. It can go further than that too. You can then start to advertise a web site and try to divert some traffic that way. On that site perhaps you have your best music for sale....

Possibilities can be endless with these techniques.

Ashish, I use reason 5! How long you been making beats for?[DOUBLEPOST=1365149789,1365149498][/DOUBLEPOST]Th3StuffShow thanks for your response bro! it looks like when it comes to music you're either making music online, or in person/ in business matters. I did not know that there's a lot of peole who give their music out for free. It makes sense though. I've been mostly absent on this whole youtube video marketing deal, and all the strategies that come along with it. How's your income going for you if you don't mind me asking? Do you do it full time? What genre do you use? It seems like Electronica and dubstep are in demand now a days.

Sadly I have just started
and I am still leaning
basics are over and started with advanced
You can check out my channel for some of the most basic things I have done
They are pretty simple remixes(mostly instrumental edits)

Once I get used to making even more amazing music I will be making my own electronic music:)
may be we can collaborate later:)
