Second Channel Questions

Hey guys, I have a question. I'm thinking about making a new youtube channel just for my games but I've heard only big youtubers should do that.

My question is, do big youtubers just do do that because they are big youtubers or is that what helps them become big youtubers?

Also, can you put them both on one monitization account?

Its probably good if you want to separate content, but also if you try to become bigger you will split the views on 2 accounts. Ofc u can always have tags and stuff to redirect the viewers to both accounts :)

Unless you were planning on doing something mildly offensive or controversial that you think might drive away regular viewers I don't like the idea of multiple channels myself. It splits your views and adds channel management work.

My theory is that anyone subscribing likes what I do, the biggest ingredient of which is me. I don't expect anyone to like everything. But I know I skip a lot of videos on my subscription feed and surely others can handle that as well.

Yeah I'm personally a fan of do all the videos on 1 channel because if they don't want to see that type of video they just wont watch it and the big youtubers do it for the money i think, having the same people watch twice as many videos like lot's of the big youtubes have a gaming channel now

At first I hated the idea of a 2nd channel. So I started doing gaming videos on my channel but people would get confused when they sub for something and then get something else.

My problem, is when I start hitting serious topics again or if I do a rant I will lose people who sub for my gaming. I see it happening with a couple of other youtubers.
