Screen Recorders for Mac

Hey guys,

I am currently using Screenium to record videos on my Mac, but have noticed the videos I'm recording are not coming out in the highest quality. They seem to be kind of fuzzy, and its hard to see all the details in-game. What I am wondering is if there are any settings that can be adjusted in Screenium that will improve video quality, or if there are any better screen recorders out there for Mac. I would prefer not to have to spend any more money, but am willing to listen to any feedback you guys may have. I know most people have PC's, but anyone who has a Mac and has had experience recording please share your thoughts. Thanks!

Most definitely Screenflow. You can check my videos to see the quality if you wish, but I've found it's really good and also provides a nice (although tiny) editing suite, which is pretty good for a beginner (like me). I haven't found it to put any extreme stress on my computer, and any lag you see in my videos is mainly from just having a five year old mac -_- Grant you it's $99, but there are "other" methods of acquiring it that are quite cost effective ;)

Screen flow is the best one you can have for mac!
I have heard a lot of good things about ScreenFlow in the past, but have never really looked into it. It's a bit pricey, but if it's as good as everyone says maybe it's worth it. I'll look into it further.[DOUBLEPOST=1366579507,1366579270][/DOUBLEPOST]

Hmmm. I may have to try some of these "methods" you speak of. And also I chekced out your channel and the quality of your videos look great. ScreenFlow seems like the real deal.

I use screen flow 4 and it is a great piece of software :)

I actually signed up for the one month trial of this program awhile back. It was very easy to use, and the videos it produced were of pretty good quality. For some reason I just didn't go back to it though.
Honestly I looked into Camtasia as well and I heard a lot of it being really rough for mac as if they had just slapped it together. Just my two cents though.

Now I wish I made a poll including all the screen recorders for Mac :( Although based on the comments it seems ScreenFlow would probably win. Also, I am new to recording, but there is an option in Screenium that allows you to record a compressed video or lossless video. I have being using the setting "lossless video," so would compressing the video have any effect on its overall quality?
