Royalty Free Music

Hi all, first of all I apologise if I have posted this in the wrong place. I would like to know if anyone has links to sites for free Royalty Free Music to use on my videos I already have a large collection of music and sound effects but want to get some new ones as well. I much appreciate any help towards this and if it is in the incorrect place just let me know.

Thank you in advance,

Jordan.

Here's all the sites that I have bookmarked so far for music and sound effects:

Incompetech
Youtube Audio Library
Pine Groove
Dig CC Mixter
Jamendo
Josh Woodward
Sound Bible
Sound FX Center
Movie Sound Clips
Free Sound

I don't even know if I've used some of them but I thought I'd chuck them in anyways.
Remember to check the license on the tracks as some of the sites have a mixture of different things and not everything is royalty free.
Hope this helps :)

(I tried to add hyperlinks but it wouldn't let me post with them)

that is fantastic I really appreciate it.

There is a big topic on the forum about RF music. You can find it in the section YouTube chat, gossip and help

Hope that helps:crown:

There are a lot of channels on youtube that provide royalty free music for you to use as long as you credit them in your description. Youtube "copyright free music" and there'll be a load that come up. Just make sure you check their description boxes to ensure you are crediting them correctly. They usually give you what you need to copy and paste

Thank you buddy

Has anyone had a video flagged for ContentID using a Josh Woodward song? I've used his music in dozens of videos without a problem, and then a video I uploaded yesterday, scheduled for Tuesday is flagged for revenue sharing.

I did a search on YouTube under their Music Policies, and there's a long list of his music and they all say "You can't monetize your video". Yet on his site, nothing has changed. It still says that you can freely use the music with attribution.

To answer my own question, but for everyone else's information, I forgot to put the attribution text into the description of the video. Apparently, doing that wards off the ContentID bots (specifically for Josh Woodward's music). Note that I always put the music credits on my videos and then copy them into the description, but it was late at night when I uploaded the video, and just missed that step this time.

From his page, which I didn't see a link to anywhere on his main page, but found by sheer luck with some google searching:

YouTube Content ID - Problem Solved!
Hey everyone! Thanks for your patience in dealing with this very frustrating issue. The long story is that because of my participation in an upcoming Google music service, my music was entered into the YouTube Content ID system. This is fine for most artists, but since my music is free to use in your videos, this caused all sorts of problems.

As of February 20th, I'm happy to report that thanks to YouTube's help, everything should be good to go from here on out. As long as you list me in the credits in the description box (which has been a requirement since the beginning), you won't have any problems whatsoever. You can use my music for your videos, free of charge, even if you monetize your videos. Again, and this is important: the credit needs to be in the description box, not just in the video itself!

One frustrating thing I discovered after YouTube started scanning videos for my music: the vast majority of videos using my music (95%+) are not giving the required attribution. I won't know the full count for a few months, but some math shows there are hundreds of thousands of videos, at the very least, in this camp. And that kinda sucks. The new system brings the best of both worlds - legal uses can continue as before, and I'll get some coins from the scofflaws who use my music without giving the required credit. For this reason, the whitelist system that was here is gone, as the new system makes it redundant. If you received a claim, you can go back and added the required attribution to your video's description box, and remove the claim on this page.

There's one other big advantage to this, as well. Frequently, other musicians have taken my music, remixed it, and distributed it themselves (or, in a couple cases, outright stole it and uploaded it as-is as their own). If they submitted it to YouTube's Content ID database, any of you who used my song got hit with a copyright strike, and there wasn't anything I could do about it. With control over my songs, I'm able to prevent this from happening, so you can be sure you won't be hit with a copyright strike.

Let me know if you have any questions or problems I can help you with. Thanks as always for using my music, and cheers!
