Hi I'm just making sure if I use royalty free music on my video, will youtube still claim a third party content match? I am looking to have this video monetised. A response would be appreciated. :D

Royal free music doesn't mean you can necessarily monetize it. What you are looking for is a licence of "Attribution 3.0"

https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/us/
  • for any purpose, even commercially.

But no you shouldn't get any, because the author wouldn't be going around calling copyright if he lets ppl use his contents freely.

With most free royalty free music such as that available at incompetech.com and audionautix.com it is very unlikely you will have any issues, I have used music from both sites for about 2 years now, maybe a little longer and not had any issues.

I have used music from AudioMicro in the past and had to send in some information to AdRev.net even though I had the rights to use with being in Fullscreen at the time.

We have a great list of resources here by the way if you are looking for some:

I have used incompetech.com too. I love the site and think they have great music! They have all different types and I always give credit to the songs I use. That is something I would say to do either in the description or in credits at the end of your video if there are credits in your videos. I am still pretty new on Youtube, but I have had no issues using any music from that website.

I have moved this to the Youtube Video Monetization & Partnership section of the forum for you :)
