roxio on the wii

So I recorded my skward sword game fine with the Roxio. but I would also like to play the games I've boughten on the wii from the wii shop channel. but I cant get them to show properly on the software so I cant record it.

I've seen my friend do it(and I just messaged her to find out how she did it; but it may be a long response so here I am to get a answer faster haha)

I'm pretty sure I've tried all the settings but maybe I'm missing something. She didn't even record on an hd tv, so for the wii shop channel games, does it have to be on a non hd tv? Its so confusing.

any of you know? before I go and transfer everything downstairs just to find out I can do it on the HD tv upstairs.lol.
 
It might be the USB port, is it a USB 2.0 or up? Some need certain speeds to get images in the way fast

I have no what usb are on my laptop. there are a few of them. buti don't see why my normal disk games work but not the wii shop games. they are all on the wii so I don't see why its a huge issue to begin with :/
