Review my channel (SEO) !

Hi!MyNameIsJan

Loving YTtalk
Hey fellow Yttalkers,
since i now have 8 videos on my channel and my workflow for videos is settled i think it might be time for a review now, so that i can change my attitude before it becomes muscle memory.

If you have the time and leisure a full channel review would be nice (design, content, quality, quantity, thumbnails, tags, caption etc.).
Im particullary interested in SEO : What can i do better to reach more people ?
But also : How do i get them to subscribe ?
And of course like every creator i want to know : How do you like my content ?
What improvements need/can be made ?

Thank you in advance !

I love your channel a lot! I subscribed :) Here's my review.

Video Content: I think you should focus more on making funny videos, as they probably will get more views and are much more entertaining and engaging. I loved your Greg videos, they were hilarious. Also, in your 3 humiliations to the world view video, you talked in a sort of monotone voice, which disengages the viewer. Try to be less robotic. I also like your drawings and when you change the pictures to keep it relevant to what you are talking about. Your lazy is a choice video didn't change the picture even once, which made it rather boring. That paired with an emotionless voice made the video a lot less engaging.

Thumbnails: Your thumbnails are rather amateurish, they are better than a lot because they have the video title on them and stuff, but they seem rather sloppy. If you made all of them follow a common design or format, it may make your channel appear neater and more professional.

Channel Art: Your channel art is very good, I like how original and creative it is. My only suggestion would be to change either the profile picture or the banner. I don't think they should be the exact same photo.

Video quantity: You seem to upload quite frequently, but you still get a lot of views per video. I'd say that's very good.

Conclusion: Your channel is very good, but could be even better. My channel isn't amazing or anything, so I'm no place to judge you, but I'm just offering you some opinions. If you want some subscribers, I recommend commenting on and watching other small YouTuber's videos. They are extremely likely to subscribe to you if you watch their videos, they may even shout you out!

On a large scale view you are right : More people want to watch comedy than my other content. But for my subscribers and viewers i wouldn´t say that is true, all in all my "deep" videos draw more views. Obviously i have a quite small sample size, but i won´t quit any of my content.
Im glad you like the adventures of Greg. I agree, i have to work on my voice acting, im really new to that. I can do that quite well in german, but its hard to try to proununce understandably and emphasise at once. I know, in my "lazy is a choice" video i made the choice to be lazy. But i found it really hard to find fitting pictures and didn´t want to invest another 5 hours into drawing. Thats why my average view time is pretty s**t on that video (22%)

I have no clue how to do anything thumbnail related. I don´t have photoshop so i use paint(.net) where im not even able to have interesting fonts.

I get these views because of reddit, nothing more. I will promote there until i hit 100 subs and my channel grows on its own. I really don´t get any views through google search or youtube recommendations (1%).

Now with my exams being over i will have more time to actually watch youtube myself and will try to review here a bit and browse smaller channels.

Thank you for this review !

Do you have microsoft office? You can make some pretty good looking thumbnails on publisher. If you don't have that, I recommend using an online site. I use https://www.canva.com/ They even have custom thumbnail templates. The only downside to using that site is some of the templates have watermarks, other than that it's perfect for Thumbnail making.

Thank you, I will look into that
