Revenue is half of what it was last year

Posting Mad!
Has anyone noticed that the revenue is almost half of what it was in 2018 in January and February?
I am comparing Jan, Feb 2018 vs 2019

Not what I'm experiencing.

RPM ( $ per thousand views) is 8% higher in Jan-Feb 2019 than in Jan-Feb 2018.

Thanks. Well it's less views then. I think youtube keeps you at the certain earnings bracket - if ads pay more then they just give you less views

That’s highly doubtful, because that limits YouTube’s revenue as well. They don’t get paid if you don’t get paid. It’s not like they get to keep all of the advertiser’s money and just not show ads. They only get paid when ads are shown and they have plenty of incentive to do so.

Personally, I’m almost double in revenue year over year with a large increase in CPM.

I’m curious what your content is, as YouTube has made changes to recommendations for channels that do commentary, reactions, conspiracy theories and other categories where someone is providing audio commentary overlaid on stock video footage (which is a lot of “Top 10” and similar channels.) Also, how does your watch time percentages compare from last years videos to this years? Longer watch time leads to higher CPM’s.
