Remix Vs. Cover

probably late for something
I started out making a punk-pop cover of the song unconditionally by Katy Perry, I got all the instruments and everything recorded and done and then realized that I wasn't going to be able to do the vocals for it. What I want to do is keep her vocals in and mix them with what I've created. And I'm unsure if this is a cover or a remix?

Opinions?

I'm pretty sure that's a remix? I was always under the impression that covers required someone else to sing the song.
