Recording Voice in Adobe Premiere Pro CS5

Loving YTtalk
I can't record my voice on my project that is all edited out. I hit record and press play and it keeps flashing. I switch over to "Sequence 1" and do the same thing and it picks up my voice perfectly but I can't see what I'm commentating on. Any suggestions?
 
I realize this isn't very helpful to what you are trying to solve

But an alternative is to use Audacity to record your voice. You can just snap your fingers at a point where you start recording to signal to where you need to line up your commentary audio.
