This may be an easy question to answer but I can't figure it out! I have a new webcam to shoot my facecam with for let's plays. However, I can't seem to figure out how to record both my webcam and the game at the same time!

In case you need to know, I'm using Windows 8.

I'm not sure if this is the right way but the way I would go about doing would be to buy a decent HD camera, then record your face while you play video games. After that in your editing software put the video as a overlay on your game video and it should work, don't take my word for it though!

I have a Creative Webcam and it has it's own software, so if I need it, I would use it, you can also use WWM and just take the file and use Oxter's way, it can easily be done in Vegas and there are tutorials on YT! ;)

You can use Xsplit. A program that allows you to record several screens on the way you want it.
Something like this:

I second this. The problem with OBS that everything is recorded on the same sound channel and make it hard to edit the sound.

Yea, you could always record the sound separately with Audacity or Audition though. Record game sound with OBS and mic with Audacity or other.

Camtasia Studio!! It can both record your screen and your webcam at the same time :D And it's one of the best screen recorder!!
