Modern orchestra uses mixing technology to get better results
each instrument is connected to one mixer track
and they achieve awesome panning to create stereo width and depth
and also other audio effects
They sound awesome
But there are many orchestra who don't uses this tech and they are still perfect
Even then they use a lot of mics and not one
