I personally have a PS3, but I just want to know, is there any way to do this? I know how to record their mics, but idk how I can plug my usb into the ps3 and be able to talk to them, AND have my hauppauge record my voice at the same time! How does everyone else do it!

You'll need 2 mics, 1 to chat and 1 connect to the PC. Otherwise if your headset has USB, you could try plugging the USB into the computer and the 3.5mm jack into the component adapter. The USB is only used for power on the PS3.

@Tougar: Out of curiosity, which mic are you using. This may help us give you a solution.

I have used the Turtle Beach X12 and now have the Turtle Beach PX22.

For the X12 and PX22 you will need:

  1. USB soundcard (X12 only)
  2. a 2.5mm to 3.5mm cable

How-to:

The X12 and PX22 both have input/output for the Xbox 360 chat cable. On X12 (below) it's to the left.

For the X12s you would simply:

  • connect the audio to the console (green cable to RCA cables provided)
  • connect the mic output (pink cable) to the PC
  • connect the 2.5mm to 3.5mm cable to the USB soundcard's mic port (again pink).
  • insert USB soundcard to PS3s
On PS3:
Settings > Accessory Settings > Audio Device Settings
Switch the Input Device to your USB soundcard
Switch the Output Device to System Default Device

For the PX22s you would simply:

  • connect the audio to the console (green cable to RCA cables provided)
  • connect the USB to the PS3
  • connect the 2.5mm to 3.5mm cable to your PC's mic input (pink).
On PS3:
Settings > Accessory Settings > Audio Device Settings
Switch the Input Device to your Turtle Beach Headset
Switch the Output Device to System Default Device

So effectively you are using the X12s and X22s 360 chat port as a second mic. This is guaranteed to work as I've used this without issue
