Recommendations for a Lavalier/Lapel Microphone

Hey everyone, I'm currently in the market for a Lavalier/Lapel Microphone (the ones they put on people's shirts for recording from really long distances) since I do videos that require really long distance shots with dialogue and my shotgun mic can only record so much.

I have my eye set on a few of them, but I'd like to know if anyone here on Yttalk has any personal recommendations. Thanks.
 
I just got myself the Rode SmartLav it runs about $50 and records right to your phone via 3.5 jack. Your not gong to get amazing quality you get with higher priced ones but it's still damn good for the price.
 
The cheaper option would be to get a good lav mic like a Rode (which is affordable) and an external recorder like a Zoom H4n, then record into that which you'd carry around. You could also get a wireless lav system which will cost you a lot for a decent one ($500-600). For that you could go with a sennheiser or sony lav.
