Everyone says reddit, twitter, facbook. but come on we can be more creative.

Someone has to know of a forum like this.

maybe even a method on a certain social media site.

Let's get thinking.

If you can create a time machine and travel back 4 years, then myspace would be one of your options, haha.

How about right here?
You can post in the Videos, Channels, Reviews & Milestones section to advertise your video. the description of it is

"Post and promote your videos and channel here to share with us, get free reviews and tips on how to improve your channel and videos further. Let us know when you have reached a new milestone too."

I believe he's looking for another source of promotion besides here and what he's stated above.

If you have lets say 100 subs, make a video saying "hey i got a twitter now, why not follow and see what im up to", Make a twitter because with every video you put up/like/favorite it says right on there automatically, and then every once in awhile ask for them to retweet it, sometimes instead of promoting on a bunch of forums just 1 forum, social network, and youtube is enough

Join forums that are related to your content and be an active member there, they may allow links to your channel in your signature, signing up to a forum solely to promote isnt the best way of doing things though, people are far more likely to check your stuff out if they see you active on them, participating and generally being a good member within their community, if you sign up and say "hey check out my channel here" with a link that will just send red flags and more often than not they will see you as a potential spammer or may even consider you one off the first post. Engagement and becoming involved is what its all about, here at YTtalk is the same, those who only promote their content here dont get anything in terms of promotion from here, those who do help out and are active certainly have reaped the rewards of being good active members.

Yeah, you might consider joining sites in you niche and really getting in there to be a part of the community. Then they will be naturally interested in you. I know it takes time but I guess in the end it's about building relationships.

I have googled my topic and searched for blogs where I submit well written comments on blog posts. It takes time, but is well worth it. A well written answer always get's at least one person looking, the owner of the blog, and hey? Who said we can't pic up subscribers one by one? :)
