Random people adding me as contacts?

I was wondering why random people are adding me as a contact on youtube, some of them are other gaming channels, which makes sense, but others are way out there like a cooking channel .

These random people adding me as contacts have never messaged me, idk if they watch my videos, havent subbed to my channel, or even comment so I was wondering why they are adding me if they aren't even contacting me?

Maybe they're like girls....and I gotta talk to them first lol. Idk!

Idk either sometimes i think its so they just spam you with messages so now a days unless i'm working with someone i just hit ignore on the requests now

I think it's so they can spam you with messages. I don't accept any (unless I know the person of course) and usually mark them as spam.

I honestly don't see any point of having contacts.

I get them all the time too and have a couple hundred, and the way i see it why not. It makes it so when you wanna send out a mass message you can send it to them
