Questions on airing YouTube live

Hey! I am new to this forum, this is my first post! Looks like a great forum :)

Okay, I run a radio show, but what I want to do is cross the line of being a radio show to becoming a general visual live show. The radio show does have a YouTube channel which we occasionally upload little videos onto.

I’ve tested out Google Hangout, and I think it looks like what I’m looking for. However, I’ve got one question on it, which I really can’t find the answer to anywhere.

When broadcasting YouTube live, am I able to stream YouTube videos to the viewers on screen? I’ve seen live shows on YouTube which do feature segments in which they play YouTube videos. I can’t see how I can to do this? I really need to be able to do it, as what I’d do is upload opening titles to YouTube, and then at the start of the show, I’d play that YouTube video. Also, as we’re a radio show, our fans love music and I want to keep the music aspect of the show. So during breaks, I’d play music videos. Any help on this I’d appreciate greatly!

Thanks for taking a look at my post, and if anyone can shed any light on this, then I’d be very grateful.

Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Eddy

When on Wirecast (YOuTube Live's encoder thingy) You can add Media files off you Hard Drive and click them and play them at any time. Here is a screen shot. http://gyazo.com/86c0a4a754addaf2c6ca65f709d3f7d1 Just put the music and stuff in the Media Files area. According to your post I believe Wirecast for YouTube will be better for your needs/

Thanks a lot for your reply, just heading over to your channel now to subscribe :)

I don't deal with the show's technical side of things, I'm just the presenter. So is this easy to do? Would you be able to explain in just a little bit more detail? Just so I can pass it on to the Radio Admin, and he can give it a crack!

Cheers!

I think its very simple you just click to add cameras and click the media thing and browse your computer, its very easy and there is a YT channel that teaches you everything about it after you sign up for it.
