Questions about skits and vlogs

SamaJaffa

Just some E[PIC]nglish guy
I am very new to the categories of skits and vlogs and I just wanted to ask a few questions regarding both categories:

- Video length?
- How many "sections" are there in a skit? As in is it just intro, climax and resolution or does it follow a different structure?
- What program(s) should I use? I have Premiere Pro CS6 but are there other programs which are better per se?
- What do you talk about in a vlog? Is it more to do with you and things that have happened/happening in your life or do you talk about something else?

That's all I have for now. Sorry if these questions are very generic or silly but I just need to get a rough idea as to how I should do things. Thank you :)

The problem with your questions, is that they're all up to you. Do you wanna do long in-depth topics? Or just short upbeat videos. I'd suggest Sony vegas for editing though.

Just going to move this to Strategies & Techniques Advice section of the forum.

Usually people like to watch shorter videos.
The 'sections' depends on what you are doing and if you want an intro...etc. There's no specific format I don't think.
I'm not sure which program is better
You can talk about anything you'd like to in a vlog..just make sure you make it interesting when you do.

These are just my own personal opinions hehe.

1. Probably around 3-5 minutes.
2. I don't think there's really a structure in a skit, I'm pretty sure people just let it flow.
3. What exactly are you using the programs for?
4. Just talk about topics that interest you or that you know quite a bit about.

Oh ok thanks XD what I meant by intro was the introduction of an idea, not one of those 5 second intros :P thank you for the advice! :D

Well I'm going to be using them to edit my videos but if I want to add explosions, or maybe the flash from a gunshot etc, what program handles this well? Thank you for the other pieces of advice though! :)

Short vlogs are better. People have an attention span of a goldfish.
Talk about anything in a vlog. Talk about your life, talk about a social problem, talk about life in general, give advice, tell stories.

Yup. I try making mines no longer than 5 minutes though (a few exceptions, haha). I make videos short because for me personally, I mostly only enjoy watching shorter vlogs because it makes me keep wanting more of a vlogger when their videos are short. So you have you have to leave your audience hanging and wanting more and that's how you get loyal subbies! Well, that's all my opinion anyway. Try to attract people within 2-4 minutes and when you get them, THEY NEVER LEAVE. lol.

1. Keep it short. No longer than 4 minutes I recommend.
2. There isn't any really
3. Premiere Pro is probably the best, but I also recommend Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum for speed.
4. Start of by talking about other things that you are interested in. If you're new and don't have many viewers, people won't care about your daily life. Thats just the internet
