Question For People Who Use Open Broadcaster Software (OBS)

So I'm trying to use OBS with my Hauppauge HD PVR but when I set it up to stream there is nothing on the screen. Is the Hauppauge not supported by OBS? And if it isn't, then what is a good capture card that does work with it?

I believe that you have to use Xsplit or sometype of program like that, I haven't had to do it but I do believe that you have to have an xsplit program
