Question about when a video goes live ?

I've Got It
If i post a video and get it ready to go today but keep it on private, when I put it on public will that be when it goes live?
. i.e. if i put it live tus will my subscribers have it appear in the sub list for today (further down the list) or tus (at the top of the list)?

P.S. sorry if that isn't very clear I struggled with wording the question clearly

Thats correct. When you change it to public it will be posted to their feeds then.

Yes, after you select "public" it will go live. And yes to ". i.e. if i put it live tus will my subscribers have it appear in the sub list for today (further down the list) or tus (at the top of the list)?". After video goes live from private status it will work same way as videos that are uploaded with "public" status, means it will appear on top of the list, considering none uploaded after your posting time. This applies once i think - if you put it back to private and then to public again subscribers won't see it as your newly uploaded video in they subscriptions feed.

Something you could try is scheduling uploads. It is basically the same thing, but instead of manually switching it to public when you are ready, YouTube does it for you. If you upload a video, where you change it to public, private, or unlisted, there should be an option for schedule. That is what I use when I have a video done early.
 
Thanks for that , I've been a bit nervous about using schedule as I don't think it will work or that I'll do it wrong.
Sounds silly really but I'm a noob lol !

I use schedules option all the time :) very simple, select this option, then select video to upload, on upload window right side there will be calendar to select date when you want video to go live, also with a time settings option as well. Very helpful if your are out somewhere, but want to keep releasing those videos on schedule that you used to.
