Quality Question?

I've Got It
SO, i have noticed, than when i record my gameplay, it comes out pretty good. I use Fraps for my recording, then use HandBreak to compress my stuff and it comes out almost the same in quality. BUT when i go to upload to youtube, it seems like it comes out like crap. All grainy and looks like im playing in an 8-bit world. any ideas? Also, im a cheapskate and i use Movie maker to put all my stuff together :/ I've tried to use LightShow for editing but it is wayyyyy to complicated for my puny brain. And when i try to use it, its like the audio from the game doesnt come through.
But thats not the topic, what i want to know is why my video's quality is diminishing so badly.

It could either be handbreak doing it, or it could be youtube because a few days a go i tried to do a lets play of batman arkham origins and all the parts were recorded fine but then after i uploaded them the quality went to s**t.

Search for "Advanced Encoding Settings for YouTube" in Google and there is an official page about it.

This is probably something you want to take a look at. Its from Google itself so you can see what it will process into. Try using some of those settings.

Have you tried uploading without Handbrake and is it the same result?

I havent tried uploading without using handbreak, if i did, the videos would be waaaaaayyyyy to big to upload i think. A 25 min video, before i condense it, is almost 22gigs... and i think thats a little much lol

How are you compressing using Handbrake? If you can, try to manually change the resolution to 720p if its in 1080p, then also try to reduce the bit-rate manually to the ones YouTube recommends. I would also suggest you look at different formats you can save it in to see if that makes much difference, as some have different quality/compression ratios.

Well, i notice now that it does it to 1280x768 with an aspect ratio of 1.67. It'll let me adjust the width, but not the height. And even after i compress it, like i said, the video comes out and its not really noticeably different in quality, video or sound. It just seems be, either when i finish it up after editing, or when i upload it.
