Putting your channel name in the video title?

Noticed this on all of Zoella's videos and started thinking whether it's worth doing,

"The Annual Christmas Sugg Special | Zoella"

I can only think it would help in search results or something, although if that was the case why wouldn't everyone do it?
 
it will help in the title, description and in the tags...but only if people search specifically for your channel or have already found your content. "Zoella" is well known enough that she will have plenty of people searching for her name alone. Most of us have much smaller channels, so whilst it will help direct people to more of my videos once they've found one of them, it's not going to help them find one of my videos in the first place
 
Personally I don't think it's worth it. I mean... everyone can already see your yt channel name below/next to it anyway so why put it in the video title. Some people do it & I guess it works more for them somehow but I just don't see how :happy:
 
It depends really, if you want people to be able to discover you easily for your channel name or real name it is a good idea to have it in the meta data whether thats in the title, description or tags. If you dont care about anyone finding you via your channel name or real name then I would leave it out.
 
I was told during my channel consultation at YouTube Space NYC that adding your channel name to tags and otherwise is somewhat pointless. People won't be searching for your name - they're searching for the content you're making. If they're searching your name, you already have your channel name that will lead to your channel displaying in search results.
 
I do it from time to time but it's more to fill space than anything else. I am not aware of any actual benefits.
 
I used to do my titles like: "Let's Play *Insert Game Name* with MrMauriceTL" but it didn't really help. I think it's kinda pointless too and if they want to search your channel name they will find you anyway.
 
It might help someone like Zoella (who probably has a bunch of folks making videos with her name in them) to have more of her videos coming up at the top of "Zoella" search by including the channel name in the title as well. I don't think most of us will have to worry about that anytime soon.
 
Yeah that's true, perhaps that's why we don't see many other channels doing the same thing as they haven't got the audience someone like Zoella seems to have.

Think i'll leave my channel name out of the titles for now!
