Putting a mouth on something?

I use sony vegas movie studio (which is actually different from sony vegas, woah), and I'm working on a silly short film right now that involves a mug of tea having a mouth and being able to speak. I have no idea what that's called, so it is impossible to google how to do it, and "how to put a mouth on something" is surprisingly unhelpful. Lol

I won't link because I don't know if that's frowned upon when I don't have the video things purchased for the month, but I want to do something similar to the cake in kickthepj's "strange cakes".

Does anyone know what this is called or how to do it in sony vegas movie studio?

I totally converted the subject into something dirty...

Sorry i'm a bit late to this, i don't use sony vegas but i imaging it must be done in a similar way to after effects. What you need to do is make 3 copies of the recording of you speaking and make a mask on each of them first one do the mouth and do an eye for each of the others, position them where you would like them to be and scale them. You will probably need to feather them to make them look nicer and color tone them to a similar color as the object you are placing them on. Thats pretty much it, very quick and easy effect to do :) (just make sure you keep your head still while recording)
