Put your phone down!

It's amazing when you go somewhere and eat, and you see a table that has 2 or more people, and everyone of those people are on their phones and not even paying attention to the people at their table. I enjoy having a smartphone, but I don't have to be on it 24/7.

I know! I think with all this social media, people are forgetting how to be social with each other. Don't get me wrong, I think that social media has its uses, but ultimately it is easier to send someone a friend request than to talk to them in person.

It's sad, especially teenagers who only know how to text, don't even want to pick a phone and call their friend. When I was that age, I would have 2-3 hr conversations on the phone with my best friends, and we actually hung out, and didn't have any thing in our hands that would take time away from actually communicating. Some days I feel like ripping phones out people's hands and saying enjoy life, your phone isn't your life line.

Yeah, I definitely feel that way too. Like, I feel that some of my friends could literally not function without their smartphone. Connection is something that social media tries to create, but what I think it destroys.
