Hello,

How come that some youtubechannels have a better look than others. I mean with this they have a look that everybody recognizes. even when the thumbnails are on the right you recoginze them...when you click them it doesnt start with what you see on the thumbnail...

It's most likely they're using a custom video thumbnail. You can make you own after you verify your channel.

But you cant do that when there is music on video...right?
Another thing is a video always monetized when there is advertising before the video starts?

Question 1: You can totally do that, but it's against Youtube's TOS to upload misleading thumbnails.
Q2) Usually yes. BUT it could be the video is claimed by a third-party and the third-party wants to put ads on it.

the thumbnail is basically a random snapshots in the video. you can create custom thumbnails related to the content. If they are misleading then they probably have no idea about it.

Yea..yeah............you can upload custom thumbnails....just dont upload really unrelated ones...not like it matters.....but still..........
