Okay, call me old school, but I always use windows movie maker to edit my daily vlogs. I have been having so many issues with it crashing multiple times during the editing process. With using it everyday, i feel like maybe I have put too much strain on it. Anyone else have these issues? I have tried switching to a different movie editor but I hate the one I downloaded. Any tips?

Thanks!!!

I hate movie maker... I used it once and never again have I touched it. I use Cyberlink Powerdirector 11... Best part about that program is the 70% student discount.... I got Director's Suite for something around $80, and that's the highest suite you can get as far as I know. Adobe was also a good program, but no discount...

Movie maker isn't a great editing program. I used it initially and it was slow with processing videos and would crash from time to time. I use Sony Vegas Pro now and it's great!

As a fellow MovieMaker user, I feel ya.

Do what I do: save the project like, every few minutes. It likes to crash when autosaving

I'm not trying to be contrary, but I've never had it crash, even when I ran it on XP.

First I've heard of problems with it, but then I've never had a problem. I don't doubt it could have stability issues.

Maybe it's related to the OS your using, or your graphics card.

I'm using Win 8.1 and Navidia Grahics card (GTX560) on a Gigabyte board with an Intel i5 processor.

thanks for all the input!! I agree, I save everything each time I make a change, but sometimes I cant get it to open back up. I bought the Vegas Movie Studio HD editor and although it is of good quality....it seems so complicated. Maybe its because I dont understand it very well.

I was hoping it was just my version. I have Widows 8 (which i dont love) so I was thinking maybe that was my problem.

Is there any other editing software similar to it?

Try Video Pad video editor. It is very simple, I started out using it.
