Problem with recording my audio

Hi I record my audio on a blu snowball mic using the programme audacity!

But for some reason when i try to record lengthy bits of audio over like 1 1/2 minutes it starts to mess up by skipping bits and messing the audio up.

Any idea why or how i can solve it?

I've heard that Mac users have had this issue due to an incompatability with Yosemite OS. Which OS are you running?[DOUBLEPOST=1470217659,1470217341][/DOUBLEPOST]http:// manual.audacityteam .org/man/faq_recording_troubleshooting.html#How_can_I_record_without_small_skips_or_duplications.3F

Take out the spaces before the .org and after the http:// in that link and paste it in your browser, there are a few different things you can try.

If you have a Mac you can check your OS by:

clicking the Apple menu at the top of your screen then click About this Mac.

If on Windows:

Click the Start button enter Computer in the search box, right-click Computer, and then click Properties.
Look under Windows edition for the version and edition of Windows that your PC is running.

I'm not a mac user but it looks like there might be an older version of audacity that may be compatable, if not then maybe try garage band?
