Problem with FRAPS?

Earlier today I was recording with FRAPS with no issues, even capped a gameplay and was able to upload it but now when I record I almost instantly drop to 3-5 frames per second.

Anyone else run into this issue or know a fix?

Yeah, from what I've been reading I think it's just time to switch (pun :p) over to another recording software

Yes I have the same issue on occasions, couldn't figure out what it was at first but then it hit me. My hard drive is 1 TB, and with all the software on it it has 800gb free, when I was recording for about 3 hours straight I noticed when I hit record my frame rates dropped to 6-7 FPS which was unplayable, when I looked at my hard drive I saw that it said only 25 GB free. That's when it occurred to me that its the hard drive lacking space. So I rendered the video I recorded turning the 775 GB uncompressed AVI into about 10 GB of rendered MP4, after this the frame rates were normal when recording.

It could be a lack of space on your HDD, an incredibly fragmented HDD (which this doesn't sound like) or just Fraps being Fraps. I'll go with 1 and 3 :p

Well, being the inexperienced Youtuber than I am haha, I actually just went and looked at my HDD (1TB) and I had 48gb left of free space so I've got some cleanup to do. I'll probably be buying an additional drive as well.

I've never had that problem....
I do have the unfortunate event of FRAPS (or whatever fullscreen game i'm playing) eating my webcam
