Problem! Voice Not Loud Enough Over Game Audio

Hello,

Okay so, I have a minor(?) problem. I recently recorded some live commentary with my Elgato. Problem is that I found out my voice isn't quite loud enough to over-ride the game volume at some points. I have audacity, but I have no idea how to solve the problem. I looked on YouTube etc but they all talk about voice volume on it's own and it's not specific to what I'm trying to do.

Can anyone point me in the general direction of a solution?

Thank you

(Elgato puts both game and voice audio into one track, just in case you were wondering...)

Hmm, editing audio in a single track isn't an easy task.

I know how to remove the vocals sometimes from audio but that in-turn removes them and doesn't allow them to be separated

Not very helpful sorry, but I would like to know this aswell, just so I know for the future. I'd really suggest finding a way to record your mic separately if you can..

I second ItsTehShadow. The only way to correct this would be to record your gameplay and your audio commentary separately. This is what I'm doing: Fraps for the gameplay and my Logitech software for the facecam and the commentary. This way you can remove the noise in your commentary with Audacity, and adjust the volume when you're working in your video editing software before rendering.

There isn't a way to reliably do it. You can draw the audio out karaoke style and then amplify that, but it will sound like crap.

You have two options with your setup.

#1) Record snippets and keep adjusting the game volume until you find the right levels. This will be time consuming and will be different for every unique game you play.

#2) Record the vocals on your computer via Audacity and then mix it with a video editor. This will give you direct control over the levels of the voice track. This may require longer cables than you have unless your TV is right next to your computer.
