Previous and Next Video (Annotations or links in Description?)

I Love YTtalk
I have seen some popular youtubers have a next and previous annotation on all their videos so that people can easily navigate to the next or last video. Does it hurt my views if I have this as an annotation throughout the video? Would it be better to put these links in the description?

I personally pop small annotations in a video series but make sure that it doesn't hurt the viewers experience. If I see a bunch of huge annotations, I turn them off imitatively :) I link to twitter in the description though :)

You should have been doing it from the start. That is your click-through ratio, and it helps people navigate through your channel, and increases views/watch time. :P
 
I tend to find them thoughout the video a tad distracting put it in the description but also place them in the last ten seconds or so of the video mybe on a endslate

Very good point, I think you can use annotations wherever and whenever you want, IF it doesn't take way from the viewing experience. Also, I'd recommend putting links in the description and annotations. That way if people are viewing your video through the YT app where annotations don't work, they can still click on the link to another video.
