Premiere Pro CC question about using separate audio.

Currently, I edit my videos by creating a sequence from whatever clip is in my media bin, then syncing audio that was recorded separately, then using the razor tool to edit.

I was wondering if there was a way to sync the audio, then use that sequence to edit in the preview window? Because I think that being able to use ins and outs to pull clips over to the time line would speed up my editing times immensely...I just don't know how I'd do it. Would I render the footage after syncing, then make a whole new project? If so, what would be the best settings to render it for further editing?

I tried asking this question in the Creative COW forums, but got no responses. Hoping to get better luck here.

I'm not sure exactly what you are trying to say, maybe screenshots would help?

But, after you sync the audio, you could link the audio and video together. You do this by selecting both the footage and video (click both while holding shift) and then right clicking, and you should see the "link" option, just click that. Then you can use the razor tool more efficiently since you can work with the audio and video at the same time. Hope that helped.

Usually you're able to just pull what you want from the source window onto a sequence...but I can't find a way to do that after you sync audio

Start recording audio first, then snap your fingers or make some noise at the same time you hit the video record key. Cut the audio to the noise spike and it will line up perfectly with the start of your video track.
