Podcast length

So me and some buddies do a podcast and we've been making them last about 45mins. And we think that's ok but we're still semi new it and we don't always get lot of views/hits.
So my question is what is the appropriate length for a podcast?

I don't think there's an appropriate length really. It depends on your audience and what they want. The beauty of podcasts is that there really aren't many limits.

Yeah, there's really no precedent to how long a podcast should be.

I've seen ones that are 10 minutes, and I've seen ones that are 6 hours

It depends on the podcast really. The way I see it, a podcast is made to be something you listen to for a long time, and usually should include long debates or topics or whatever. Most podcasts I have listened to lasted between 1-5 hours. Honestly though, its how long it takes you to go through your pre-prepared topics, assuming you are that type of podcast.
