I've Got It
So i have posted like 3 of these since joining this site (like 2-4 months ago) and want to know how i have progressed i would like a full review of my most recent vlog (Vlog #19 Minor Accident) and if possible compare it to some of my earlier vlogs and tell me what i have improved on and what can still be improved

I think there is a lot of footage you can cut out or at least cut down. Like the footage of the watch, great idea but I wouldve cut it down to maybe like 10 seconds of footage. As well as the time lapse in the beginning. With having your channel name put over it, it made it hard to realize it was a time lapse. Also it wasn't a very clear picture. It may have been better if you put a portion of the time lapse. That just my thoughts though!

Before you start reading this, please know it is quite critical. I can see/hear you are still quite young, so if some of this stuff either goes over your head or you don't find it important yet, just ignore it.

First impression: Just under 5 min, so I can watch that real quick. Your voice is quite pleasant to hear. The timelapse is a nice idea, but goes wrong in several ways. Firstly, why is it a smaller image? Most phones can record HD now and if your phone can't, I would use your camera. The text is really big and in the way, I can't enjoy the sunrise with the letters covering is, plus that the white lettering is actually quite hard to read. It's quite long as well, I would either speed it up or cut it shorter.

First interaction: Oh god, horizontal phone filming? I'm very sorry, but if I was not reviewing it, this would be the part I drop out. It's just really unprofessional in my opinion. If you have to/want to film on your phone, hold it sideways. The watch section is a nice idea indeed, but the watch is out of focus and as mentioned above, the section is a bit too long as well.

Music: You use the same NCS music twice. I know the song, so you could either use a different part of it, or use a different songs. It feels kinda lazy that you use the same music twice.

Broken camera and scedule: It was nice that you showed the broken camera recording for a bit, but again it was waaay too long.. I actually skipped through it. The scedule bit was nice, but it all seems really random. Maybe you should find a theme for your video everyday. This time, it was mostly about camera's, so I would stick to that subject to make a more cohesent video.

Also, in the end you show 15 to 20 seconds of blurry footage with the text 'vlog over'. Please know that people WILL immediatly click away if the screen says vlog over. This is 15 seconds of watch time that you are cutting of your own vlog. Either end it on a personal note (looking into the camera and say bye) or just transition into it WITHOUT putting 'vlog over' on the screen.

So overall, you need to work on your editting and timing to up your retention rate. People click away when time lapses take too long or when the music/talking is not interesting. Sorry for the long post, I hope it helped you in any way!

i would love to have focused the camera more BUT the cameras i bring with me are fixed focus and my main camera is falling apart (bits of the lens falls out sometimes, lens cap is broken) plus my school is one of those "this guy has an expensive thing, lets take it and break it" honestly the first thing i need to do is move to a better area, and the phone thing, my phone used to be able to record HD and some software update broke it (it is a lumia phone and i didn't notice till after 7 days and i couldn't roll back afterwards) once i get a "CR1220" battery for my other camera which wont turn on without a new clock battery i can use that, and the music issue: sony vegas cant render music sometimes, i actually had to re-render because i originally did put another part of the song however sony vegas muted it for some reason (maybe bc its the 30-day trial???) so i ultimately decided to use the same part as i 100% knew sony vegas was capable of that part

And thank you for a very detailed review of my video it will really help in the future :)

Blogs in my opinion is the hardest thing to do on youtube because you have to do something engaging practically everyday or every few days.

Your videos are not that bad. I do like the editting you put in to the videos. And people might disagree with me but the quality of your videos gives your videos character. We all cans see you don't have the best camera quality but it still works especially how you edit your videos which I appreciate. Oh and trim some parts of the video. I.e. keep channel updates or anything related to why you didn't upload etc. to a minimum. And try to keep the camera still when recording; that can be distracting.

The main thing I would say is just try to be more entertaining like maybe go some where that interest you. Maybe a hike or maybe a park. It doesn't have to be something like an amusement park or anything. Just a different place with a different adventure.

But I really enjoy the editting so keep that up!!!

thanks! I spend on average 2-4 hours editing and another 1 or 2 rendering on this slow potato i call a laptop
im pretty sure the majority of my viewers agree (why else would they keep watching) i was supposed to trim some footage but i forgot to put a marker to remind me, and as i live out of town just going into town which will do
