Pivot Point After Effects

Guys I am working on a kinetic typography video for a scene from the tv show suits. I have used illustrator and after effects. My current anchor/pivot point is in the middle of the footage on Ae. I need to rotate the footage, but when I do it rotates from the middle. Usually I would just move the pivot point. For some reason when I try to do that the position of the footage moves. Does anyone know why?

Left click and drag the anchor while holding down the Y key - lets you move the anchor without moving the layer
