Just thought I'd share this with the community as it seems to be my most popular video, and might be helping a few people out.
As the shortcuts that Steam creates aren't your "typical" shortcuts, there's no option when you right-click to pin it to your start screen/menu. This method involves you physically moving the shortcut into the start menu folder, to make the icon appear.
