I've Got It
Hey guys I've been trying to figure to figure out how to put a picture as a background to make a custom thumbnail for YouTube, but I haven't found any videos or I have not figure it out. Do you guys think you could help me by telling me how or direct me to a video tutorial? I would really appreciate it thanks in advance.!
 
Can you explain your question more? Picture as a background?.. put the picture as the bottom layer and put whatever else on top layers

Yeah like put it on the back and then you can put things on top of that I guess that's what you call a layer huh? Sorry I don't really know much about it. But yeah that
 
File > Place; then find the image you want. Expand it to be the size of the thumbnail, then click back to the pointer tool thing. It will ask you if you want to place it, and you do. Next, move the layer to be the bottom layer and delete the layer called background if it has nothing on it. :)
