Personal Adsense CPM

Ive seen a few people claim that at the moment their CPM with adsense is 10. This seems absurdly high so I don't really believe them, but I was wondering if anyone here that is not in a network and uses their own adsense account could attest to this?

Since I started, I would say ~$0.60 CPM, but I only put all ads on some of my videos. If you take out the skippable ads, you only get about $0.11 CPM. If you put them in it's about $0.95-1.00 depending on what you get.

A better question is where are they getting their CPM number from?

I would be shocked if it's anywhere near that high on the Adsense page, but, if they're looking at 'Ad Performance' on their YouTube Analytics page, $10 is very believable as my skippable videos are about that and my non-skippable ads have a CPM above that.

$10 per 1000 views? Seriously?

The typical is $1 CPM (per 1000 views). Or at least it used to be, but I've been hearing numbers in the 50-75 cent range these days.

All total, yes, 50-75 cents/ 1000 is typical for about now, but that's why I asked where people were basing their CPM data on. From within YouTube's Analytics (where I would assume the $10 number came from), it's strictly talking about ad impressions and not compensating for total views. That completely ignores the fact that it could take 10,000+ views before 1,000 ads are shown.

Well it has to count for something because I saw an averaging of around 11c per 1000 views if you just put the overlay ads on.

They didn't give much more information, which is why I found it hard to believe. That being said, I wouldn't know how solo adsense stacks up to a MCN since ive never had my own adsense running.

...and I've never been with a network, to compare in the other direction, but numerous reports from here and elsewhere on the web all suggest that, unless you're a big channel who the network is willing to dedicate a sales team to, the ads are the same exact ones that you'd get from Adsense directly.

I did hear an MCN gives a higher CPM which is why people go to them... I heard an average of $1 CPM.

Networks will often use that as part of their sales pitch and promises, but as I said, unless you're a huge channel, it's not true.
