$$$ per Views - Is This Accurate?

Is this quote from intuit.com accurate? Is this a rough estimate of how video views equate to revenue once a channel is monetized? (I realize it varies.)

"With the average YouTube pay rate hovering between $0.01 and $0.03 for an ad view, a YouTuber can make around $18 per 1,000 ad views, which comes out to $3 to $5 per 1,000 video views. Forbes also estimates that for top talent, a YouTuber can make about $5 for every 1,000 video views."

Btw, I wasn't sure if it is appropriate to post a link to the article or not, so I didn't. I'm kinda new here and still getting to know the etiquette & do's/don'ts.

It really varies. it can be $1 or less per 1000 views. Or it can be more than $5. More popular videos get higher rates per view. It varies throughout the year also.

It also varies based on the topic of the video. Tech channels get higher cpm then a channel for high-schoolers (in general).
also its based on viewered location. Viewers in India for example generate less ad dollars than viewers from the USA (in general). It really has to do with how the algorithm auctions off the ads and how much the ad agency bots want to pay for a viewers eyeballs from a particular location, in a particular vertical, at a particular time of the year

I see you do travel videos like me.

1. You likely cater to US audience. Which is GOOD for revenue.
2. You do travel videos. Which is BAD for revenue.

If you did a travel channel in indian for indian audience you would likely get some of the worst revenue on youtube.
Real estate, finance and tech for rich countries would earn a lot.

Basically as Nicekid said.
