I've Got It
Hi :) I mostly dont sleep at night and I wanna take nice quality videos. The room lamp is of course not enough and i dont know anything about this. Should i buy something like paraflash or what kind of? Can i make my own at house? Confused as always :D

A paraflash is probably the best you cab get. But construction lights such as this work just as good and costs a lot less. Take caution though. They get very, very hot.

Hey! I don't sleep much either haha. So filming in the day is always the best condition. In terms of video quality, it's the best for vlog type videos, (the sit and talk kind). But if you want to shoot at night, Lots of light is required. Probably you can try three point lighting for the best effect. The first will be the keylight, illuminating your face at an angle. Then a reflector or a weaker light on the other side of your face to soften the shadows, this is the fill light. Important thing is, the fill light shouldn't be very strong, you want to keep a little bit of the shadow to maintain a 3 dimensional situation. The third light should illuminate the background! And there you go! You could also light up a few candles in you room along with these lighting to create a nice atmosphere :D Hope that helped![DOUBLEPOST=1410208542,1410208405][/DOUBLEPOST]

I forgot to mention the light types haha! You can use CFL bulbs, you can even make studio lights at home! There are plenty of videos on youtube about it! But the important thing is how you use them!

Thank you so much :) But do they give the same result?

I'm not a vlog expert but I'd say they do. Professionals will probably see the difference but the majority on youtube wont.

Paraflashes give a softer light and the construction lights are really sharp and illuminate a lot because thats what they're supposed to to :D

If you buy one remember to face it towards a wall when recording. They're really bright and you'll get dazzled if you face it towards you.

Tubetape.com has very affordable lighting. I'd take a look at their Discounted Lighting Kits. They have a 2 CFL softbox kit for $250, but also a 4 CFL softbox kit for the same price so I'm thinking about nabbing that one when I get paid this week.
