Paid Editing Gig? ^_^

I might be getting my first paid editing gig.
I've been paid to record events from sports, to engagements and what not but I have yet to be paid for editing someone else content. (sorta)

So . . . now the question is how much do I charge for editing O.O
This project seems pretty easy. They want me to add background music, and clean up their voice over audio and add a splash logo at the start of the video. (that's pretty much it) it might be a long rendering since it's two videos one 25min and one 15 min one . . .
idk like 40-50 dollars sounds fair to me.

From what you described above it would take me roughly an hour to edit including rendering. 2 hours tops.
So if you think 40-50 an hour is reasonable for your time then go for it.

If it is a professional level production however, I'd recommend moving to 60-150 an hour. It depends on the level of the production and how much experience you have in editing.

They hired you without having a quote or stating what they're willing to pay? I would sort that out BEFORE you even start, or they might refuse if it's too high.

I told them to send me the video footage so I could take a look at it, and then I would tell them how much it would cost. Mostly because I want to see if it's something I want to put my name on. And yea I agree tell them the cost before I even start editing. ^_^ thanks you all rock!
